The CRC counts the votes from abroad Kosovo for the 2021 Local Elections

Prishtina, October 24, 2021– In the Counting and Results Center, the votes abroad Kosovo were counted, which came by mail during the period September 15 – October 15, for the Local Elections 2021.

At the beginning of their counting, the CEC Spokesperson, Valmir Elezi informed the media that during the voting period by mail, the Central Election Commission has received about 5 thousand 700 packages of alleged ballots. After the evaluation and verification by the voting service, within these packages were found 10 thousand 934 individualized envelopes with ballots paper.

“During their evaluation, 9 thousand 610 individualized envelopes with ballots paper were approved, while 1 thousand 324 were rejected because they are not in accordance with legal criteria. More than half of them were rejected after being sent by people who did not apply for voter registration abroad Kosovo (614) or by people who failed to register as voters (200). There are also cases when a package of ballot paper has been sent more than once by the same person (168), etc. “, said Elezi.

Responding to media interest, regarding the counting of conditional votes and of people with special needs, he announced that their counting will take place on Monday, October 25th .
