President of CEC welcomed the Chief Observer of EU Election Observation Mission in a meeting

Prishtina, 19 September –President of Central Election Commission, Valdete Daka hosted the Chief Observer of EU Observation Mission Viola von Cramon – Taubadel in a meeting.

Member of the European Parliament was accompanied by the EU Special Representative for Kosovo, Ambassador Nataliya Apostolova.

President Daka welcomed the observers from the European Union in Kosovo and informed them on the progress of the preparations that the Central Election Commission is making for the organization of early elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, taking place on 6 October 2019.

Also, President Dhaka stated that the CEC observation of the elections is indispensable and of particular importance, as it increases the credibility of the electoral process and that the findings of observers help the CEC in addressing certain issues.

For her part, the head of the European Union Election Observation Mission, Viola von Cramon-Taubadel, said that EU Election Observation Mission will observe the election process in Kosovo prior to, during and also after the election day.

On 3 September 2019, the Administrative Agreement was signed between the EU Office in Kosovo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Central Election Commission for the observation of the 6 October 2019 early parliamentary elections.
